Phad prieaw waan

Chicken in sweet and sour sauce, a nice and sweet recipe, but a little spicy too. My personal favourite.

ingrediënten (voor 4 personen):
  • 400 gram chicken breast
  • 1 cucumber
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 250 gram pineapple
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 lombok chilli
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 onions
  • ╝ cup of starch
  • ╝ cup of sugar
  • ╝ cup of fish sauce
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • chilli sauce
  • oil

bereiding:
  1. Cut the onion, bell pepper, tomato and pineapple into large pieces. Slice the cucumber. Chop up the garlic. Cut the chicken into small dice.
  2. Heat the oil in a stirfrying pan. Add the garlic and chilli and fry briefly. Add the chicken and stirfry until done. Turn down the fire. Add all vegetables and mix. Cover the pan, and let the whole simmer, allowing the juice of the tomatoes and cucumber to come out.
  3. Add the fish sauce and sugar.
  4. Add the vinegar and chilli sauce. Turn up the fire and bring to boil. Resolve the starch in some water, and add while stirring. Allow the sauce to become thick.
  5. Serve with rice.
